2011 National Sheepdog Finals Blog This link is to a blog profiling the handlers going to the US Border Collie Handler's Association National Finals in September. I just read the most recent one about Scott and Jenny Glen (Alberta, woot woot!) There is some pretty sage advice in there for anyone in this hobby. Wall 2 Wall Sheep Ranch Fun Day & Mini Clinic, Nov 15, 2009. We had 30 dogs and 15 handlers participate. Handlers & dogs received assistance from many seasoned handlers & trainers, dogs were able to try out different handling styles and handlers were able to work their skills with different dogs. A great day, with wonderful weather for November in Manitoba, and the opportunity to make new friends and renew old friendships was enjoyed by the dogs and handlers alike.

Face Value: Sheep & Smiles
It seems sheep are discerning eaters?at least when it comes to who serves them. In a 2004 study, researchers at CambridgeUniversity in England gave sheep the choice of two doors to push open to get food. One door depicted a smiling human, the other an angry one. By a vast majority, the sheep chose the door with the smiling face.
