These pictures were taken on June 27, 2011 of the mostly February born ram lambs.
Weights were taken for 2 lambs on June 12th (125 days)  [weaned April 24th]
g65:  a twin born to Y51 born February 7  was 64.2 lbs
g68:  a twin born to B93 born February 8  was 70.2 lbs

Our February lambs are usually ready for market at 85 to 95 lbs for the first week of July.
Please note that we have been strained this year by inclement weather... cold and very wet.... and have only low quality hay or very high moisture grass which slows weight gain.  Pens have been very muddy and black on lambs is actually mud from the clay in pens.

It seems sheep are discerning eaters?at least when it comes to who serves them. In a 2004 study, researchers at Cambridge University in England gave sheep the choice of two doors to push open to get food. One door depicted a smiling human, the other an angry one. By a vast majority, the sheep chose the door with the smiling face.
